The Xenon Lamp Weathering test chamber of Sonacme meets the AATCC TM16.3 test method, which simulates sunlight exposure in a real environment and accurately evaluates the colour fastness of textiles to light.

Standard Overview

The AATCC TM16.3 test method is a test standard developed by the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) for the colour fastness of textiles to light. The test method is mainly used to assess the degree of colour change of textiles under a specific light source (usually a xenon arc lamp), so as to determine its light fastness performance.

AATCC TM16.3 Requirements for Test Equipment

Light source: A compliant xenon arc lamp be used as the light source, and its spectral distribution be similar to that of sunlight, including ultraviolet, visible and infrared components.

Rotating drum sample holder: A rotating drum sample holder be provided inside the equipment so that the samples can be uniformly exposed to the light source during the test to avoid the deviation of test results caused by uneven light.

Temperature and humidity control: the test chamber should be equipped with an accurate temperature and humidity control system to simulate the testing needs under different environmental conditions.

Features of Xenon Lamp Weathering test chamber of Sonacme Technology

Light source characteristics: Xenon Lamp Weathering test chamber adopts full-spectrum xenon arc lamp, which can provide a highly consistent spectral distribution with the sunlight to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the test results.

Rotating drum sample holder: The equipment is equipped with a rotating drum sample holder, so that the samples can be uniformly exposed to the light source in the test process, to avoid uneven illumination caused by the deviation of the test results.

Temperature and humidity control: The test chamber is equipped with an accurate temperature and humidity control system to simulate the needs of testing under different environmental conditions, ensuring the accuracy and repeatability of test results.

Spraying option: Some models of rotating drum xenon aging test chamber also have a spraying function, which can simulate the effect of humid environment on textiles to further evaluate their weathering resistance.

Parameters of Xenon Lamp Weathering test chamber of Sonacme Technology

Light source: a 1.8KW U.S. imported air-cooled xenon lamp (normal service life of about 1500 hours)

Filter: daylight filter (also available window glass filter or ultraviolet extension filter)

Effective exposure area: 2200cm2 (11 sample racks, can be placed 150 × 70mm sample plate 22)

Irradiance monitoring mode: 340nm or 420nm or 300nm ~ 400nm (simultaneous display)

Irradiance setting range: 0~90W/M2 (300nm~400nm) or 0.3 W/M2~0.75 W/M2 (@ 340nm) or 0.5 W/M2~1.35 W/M2 (@ 420nm)

Blackboard temperature setting range: room temperature +30℃~+90℃ (slightly different according to the external environment and the set irradiance)

The Xenon Lamp Weathering test chamber of Sonacme Technology , as an important piece of equipment that meets the AATCC TM16.3 test method, plays an important role in textile colour fastness to light testing. By using this equipment, the textile industry is able to accurately assess the colour stability of textiles, optimise production processes and formulations, and improve product quality and durability.
