The ISO 11507 standard is widely used in the paint and varnish industry. Overview of the ISO 11507 standard

ISO 11507 ‘Colour paints and varnishes - Exposure of coatings to artificial weathering - Exposure to fluorescent ultraviolet light and water’ specifies test methods for determining the resistance of coatings to the effects of artificial weathering by means of test equipment incorporating a fluorescent ultraviolet lamp and condensation or water spray. The standard applies to coating materials such as coloured paints and varnishes and is intended to assess the weathering resistance of coating materials by simulating factors such as ultraviolet light, temperature and humidity in the natural environment.

Light source: the use of fluorescent ultraviolet lamp as a light source, able to simulate the ultraviolet part of the sun. Specific light source configuration may vary, such as some models use three 20W, wavelength 313nm fluorescent UV lamps, while some models use UV-A (wavelength 340nm) or UV-B (wavelength 313nm) light source, 40W × 8.

Control system: the equipment has a touch screen man-machine interface, which is convenient for users to set the test parameters.

Liner design: stainless steel sandwich liner design, no rust and water leakage, while effectively preventing water vapour from penetrating into the electrical part of the working chamber to damage the electronic components.

Spray time setting range: 1min~99,999min.

Lamp rated life: e.g. 6000hours or 1000hours, etc. (varies according to lamp type).

Lamp irradiation energy: new lamp irradiation energy up to 0.9W/m2 (UVA) or 0.7W/m2 (UVB), can be set range is generally 0.3W/m2 ~ 1.55W/m2.

Blackboard temperature setting range: room temperature +10℃~+80℃.

Exposure area: e.g. 5175cm2/828in2, etc. (varies according to model and configuration).
