IEC 61215 Photovoltaic Testing - Walk-in Xenon Lamp Aging Chamber
Publish Time:2025-01-16Views:()
As the global demand for renewable energy continues to grow, the quality and performance of crystalline silicon photovoltaic (PV) modules, as the core component of a PV power generation system, is directly related to the energy efficiency and reliability of the entire system. For this reason, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) has developed the IEC 61215 standard, which aims to ensure that crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules can maintain stable performance and safe operation under various environmental conditions.
Interpretation of IEC 61215
The IEC 61215 series of standards is a series of standard documents approved by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) for the design qualification and type of ground-mounted photovoltaic (PV) modules. The series of standards consists of six separate sections covering requirements and processes for PV module design, performance testing, and certification approval. These standards provide an international benchmark for PV manufacturers, test laboratories and purchasers to ensure the quality, reliability and long-term performance of PV products.
IEC 61215 Xenon Lamp Aging Test Conditions
Light source: A xenon lamp is used as the light source to simulate the full spectrum of sunlight radiation.
Spectral range: The light emitted by the xenon lamp should cover the wavelength range of visible, ultraviolet and infrared light to fully simulate the effects of sunlight on PV modules.
Irradiance: During testing, it should be ensured that the irradiance emitted by the xenon lamp is uniformly distributed across the test plane of the module and meets the values specified in the standard. Typically, the irradiance will fluctuate within a certain range to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the test.
Temperature control: The temperature inside the test chamber should be controllable and simulate temperature variations under different climatic conditions. Typically, tests are conducted at specific temperatures, such as 60°C ± 5°C, to assess the performance and durability of the components in high-temperature environments.
Filter use: In order to more accurately simulate the solar spectrum, different filters may be used in the xenon aging tester. These filters filter out unwanted wavelengths, such as short-wave UV below 290nm and infrared above 1200nm, to bring the test closer to natural conditions.
Parameters of Walk in Xenon lamp Test Chamber
Xenon lamp power: 3 1.8KW, 2.5KW (air-cooled full solar full-spectrum long arc xenon lamp)
Temperature control range: -70 ℃ ~ +80 ℃
Temperature variation range: ± 0.5℃
Humidity control range: 20.0%RH~98.0%RH (temperature range without light: +10℃~+85℃)
